Streptavidin-FITC Conjugate (SA-FITC)
Catalogue no.SAF
Product Overview
Streptavidin-FITC (SA-FITC) is a high-quality fluorescent conjugate produced from our own in-house streptavidin under strict quality control. Supplied in 0.1 M sodium phosphate buffer (pH 7.2) with 0.09% sodium azide, it offers excellent stability and consistent performance across lots.
FITC is covalently conjugated to streptavidin at an optimized molar ratio — strong enough for bright, reliable detection, yet carefully controlled to preserve all four biotin-binding sites on the native tetrameric streptavidin structure.
Features and Advantages
- Consistent Lot-to-Lot Quality — Tight CV across production batches ensures reproducible results in your assays
- In-House Raw Materials — Streptavidin is produced and purified in-house, giving us full control over conjugation input quality
- Strict QC Criteria — Every lot tested for biotin-binding activity and fluorescence intensity before release
- Optimized FITC:Protein Labeling Ratio — Maximizes fluorescence signal while preserving streptavidin's four-site biotin-binding activity
- Flexible Production Capacity — Large-scale manufacturing capability to support OEM, diagnostic kit, and research supply needs
- Customizable Specifications — Custom FITC:protein ratios, buffer formulations, and packaging sizes available upon request
Applications
SA-FITC is excitable at 488 nm (standard laser line) and emits at a fluorescence maximum of 521 nm, placing it squarely in the FITC/FL1 detection channel. It is widely used in:
- Flow Cytometry — Detection of biotinylated antibodies and other biotinylated molecules in immunophenotyping and cell sorting workflows
- Fluorescence Immunoassay (FIA) — Rapid, sensitive signal generation for diagnostic and research platforms
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC) / Immunofluorescence (IF) — Amplified tissue and cell staining using biotin-streptavidin systems
- ELISA and Lateral Flow — Sandwich assay signal amplification
- Microarray and Bead-Based Assays — Multiplexed detection on Luminex and similar platforms

As a vertically integrated manufacturer, Flogen produces its own raw material, meaning we control purity, activity, and consistency from protein production through to final conjugate. This supply chain advantage translates directly into tighter lot-to-lot variation and reliable availability, whether you need milligram research quantities or bulk OEM supply.
